The mother-son creative team returns, as Alexander Kirtley brings us the first story in the "New Frontiers, New Directions" saga. Follow the adventures of the crew of the new ship Sword of Myth: Tayge, Lucky, Xiu, Asuka and Najimi take to the open spaceways to resolve the past and build a new future.
A Deviant Mind #12: Gothika
Still smarting from their run-in with Dhalak, the twins Tayge and Lucky sort thru the painful memories from their military past that the casino mogul has raked over.
Tayge is still haunted by his own past and his failures and wants to find some way to come to terms, unlike his brother who wants to shut out the past and refuses to talk to either Tayge or Xiu-Li about how he feels.
An opportunity for atonement presents itself amidst speculation and falsehood: A disaster moves Lucky and Tayge to use all the skill at their disposal to save lives. Throughout, those dark nightmare memories haunt them as they jump to the rescue. A bad situation is salvageable, and Lucky and Tayge finally come to terms with who they really are.
A Deviant Mind #18: Sword of Myth An early morning filled with bad dreams pulls Tayge, Lucky, Xiu and Asuka to discuss where to go from here. A message from one of Dhalak’s cronies turns the group to consider outwitting him for the sake of revenge.
But first Xiu wants to tie up some loose ends at home. Asuka and the boys meet Xiu’s childhood friend Nathu, and her father Moog--who surprises them all when they learn that he knew Tayge, Lucky and Asuka’s parents, which means he also has clues to Tara’s mysterious past as well.
A tale unfolds from decades past, of war and rebellion and the part four young people once played in it. As they listen, our heroes learn an unsettling truth: Sometimes Home is where both your past AND your future are built.
